You're overthinking again!

My services cater to individuals struggling with issues like Generalized Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Separation Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

General Anxiety

An extremely common condition, anxiety can be prompted by traumatic events, social and workplace scenarios, or even arise as a pervasive sense of unease and stress. It's normal to feel some level of anxiety. However, excessive anxiety becomes detrimental. Sustaining an ongoing or nearly constant state of anxiety that feels uncontrollable can be destabilizing and rarely self-corrects. When faced with stress, your body releases cortisol, a hormone aimed at alleviating the tension. Yet, prolonged exposure to cortisol can compromise your immune system's strength. This is why addressing anxiety typically leads to an improvement in both your overall health and mental well-being.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is defined by persistent, intrusive thoughts that are unwanted, along with subsequent actions carried out compulsively in reaction to these thoughts. The nature of OCD thoughts and behaviors varies from person to person. A frequent illustration, however, involves someone experiencing obsessive thoughts concerning germs, leading them to engage in compulsive hand-washing as a response. Those who suffer from OCD can feel like they are stuck in an endless cycle. This is an emotionally exhausting, not to mention time-consuming, mental disorder, which can interfere with a person’s normal day-to-day life. Fortunately, there are proven, evidence-based treatments available.

Social Phobia

Social phobia, also known as social anxiety disorder, is an intense fear of social situations that goes beyond normal shyness and significantly impacts a person's life. Individuals with social phobia are highly self-critical and have a strong fear of being judged by others. This fear often compels them to avoid everyday social interactions, such as going to stores, spending time with friends, dating, or collaborating with others at work. These anxieties can hinder a person's career progress and prevent them from pursuing goals that require interaction with others. Without treatment, social anxiety tends to worsen and could result in complete isolation, depression, and in some cases, agoraphobia—avoiding situations perceived as threatening. Addressing social anxiety through appropriate interventions is vital to prevent these negative outcomes and enable individuals to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. When left untreated, social anxiety tends to worsen over time and could lead to complete isolation, depression, and sometimes agoraphobia.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder triggered by experiencing or witnessing a deeply traumatic or horrifying event. Common symptoms encompass intrusive flashbacks, distressing nightmares, avoidance behaviors, shifts in mood or personality, and intense anxiety. The intensity of PTSD symptoms can fluctuate over time. Even if symptoms seem to have diminished, a person might find themselves unexpectedly grappling with flashbacks or panic attacks triggered by seemingly ordinary situations. Psychotherapy plays a significant role in helping individuals process and incorporate past traumatic events. Through therapy, they can regain control over their lives and prevent these events from dictating their actions and emotions.
